Suddenly, GIRAFFES // Week 04

This week has been the kind of busy that makes you feel just a liiiitle crazy. The kind of crazy where you're talking to someone or living your life, and suddenly your brain goes, GIRAFFES! And instead of thinking, "I am a crazy person," you think, "I need to write that down." There is context to this story...but I promise it won't make anything clearer for you.

The snow earlier in the month rearranged our district's calendar so that exams butt up against the start of the new semester - no makeup exams, no teacher workday, nada. I had so little time to prepare that I went in early and stayed late on Friday, worked from home all day Saturday, and still felt the need to go in to work (on a Sunday!) so that I wouldn't lie awake thinking about how many copies I would need to make on Monday morning. In spite of all that, I've got some good things to share:

I discovered that Heather Land has a blog! If that name sounds familiar, it's because her comedy series I Ain't Doin' It blew up on YouTube last year (see one of my favorites here). I was planning on writing a (belated) post on why New Years' Resolutions are garbage, but Heather beat me to it and with such humor and thoughtfulness that I'm not even mad about it. Read the post.

I'm obsessed with Kyle Hanagami's choreography, and I watched this video of Charlie Puth's "How Long" half a dozen times.

I started listening to Dessa after hearing her cover The Mountain Goats' song "Balance." A few days ago, she released a music video for her song "Good Grief" and it is cinematic and absolutely beautiful.

I started rereading A Wrinkle in Time and sharing reactions and chapter recaps in anticipation of the movie's release. Check out my post about it here and the recap to Chapter One here!

I'm addicted to (and terrible at) HQ trivia, a nightly live gameshow where the people who answer all 12 questions correctly split a cash prize. Join using code chelseabacc and give me a life!

I bought a pair of clearance JoyLab leggings (similar) at Target after hearing LeighAnn rave about them, but I didn't realize JoyLab leggings come in two styles - comfort and performance. I bought the performance leggings, which are high-waisted and wonderful but also like spanks for your lower body. I can't wait to try the comfort ones, which I imagine are a little bit more lounge-like (I'm not going to pretend I wear them to exercise).

Tell me something good about your week in the comments below!
