No Happy Endings by Nora McInerny was my first book for #NonfictionNovember, and it happed accidentally. I was mulling over a TBR post when I picked it up, began reading the first page…and never stopped. I could tell you about The Things That Happened to Nora, but you can find that out by reading the jacket. Instead I’ll say that McInerny writes openly about grief — and while I don’t have a frame of reference for the losses she experienced, I do understand how an event can bifurcate your life so there is a Before and an After. She takes one of our society’s most taboo subjects and lays it out in all its beautiful, messy, terribleness. And then she examines what comes next.
