Beauty Talk: Trash Talk

I've used up a whole bunch of stuff lately, so I thought I would put together a post about whether or not I'm planning on repurchasing these products (and why).

Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo - It's the best, cheapest, and least-offensively scented of all the drugstore dry shampoos I've tried. I might have to do a blog post devoted entirely to my dry shampoo addiction, because it is real. I've repurchased this multiple times and always have an extra lying around. I'm a little concerned they may be repackaging/reformulating this - it's good as it is!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation in Light Ivory - Unlike many brands, Rimmel offers shades that work well for fair skin. This foundation is a great match for me - maybe the best foundation match I've ever found at the drugstore. It promises full coverage and a comfortable, 25 hour wear time, and while I can't attest to the 25 hour claim, it is definitely the most comfortable and long wearing foundation I've tried. I've repurchased this once, and will definitely do so again. I just wish they would change the packaging. It's a total mess to use because it doesn't have a pump, and I can never actually get all the product out of the package before I have to toss it.

Mitchum Sensitive Skin Fragrance Free Antiperspirant - I have a hypersensitivity to fragrance, so I've been on the hunt for a truly fragrance free deodorant, and this is what I've found. Because it's for sensitive skin, it's not "unscented" but totally fragrance free. Best of all, it still does what it's supposed to do. I've already repurchased this (although I had to go to a couple of stores to find it).

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater - This totally unnecessary product is one of my all time favorites. It's basically a facial mist (anybody else remember these?) but it's so pleasant to use (it's lightly fragranced, but doesn't bother me) and gives my skin a little boost whenever I use it. I find myself using it more during the warmer months, because it cools your skin down, but I'll layer it over top of moisturizer in the winter if my skin is feeling dry. I'll also use it to soothe my skin after exfoliating. I've had this bottle for ages and finally used up the last of it, but I repurchased a bottle the last time I was in Ulta because I had no idea it would last me this long!

Tarte Brazilliance Maracuja Self Tanner - It costs more than I thought I would be willing to spend on a product like self-tanner, but you get what you pay for with this. It's not smelly, looks natural, and I can slap it on and you won't be able to tell that I forgot to exfoliate first. It comes with a mitt, too. I mostly focus on my arms and legs, and it lasted me quite a while, but I have since repurchased this.

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water - I've talked about this micellar water before, because it's been my go-to makeup remover all year. It's alcohol and fragrance free, so it doesn't irritate my eyes like my previous favorite (the Aveeno Sensitive Skin Makeup Removing Wipes) sometimes did. A bottle of this lasts so long, so I feel like I'm really getting my money's worth. I have the waterproof version of this, which I like a little less, but I'll try to use that up before I purchase this again.

Bioré Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips - I'm pretty sure this is the same brand everyone reached for in middle school. Bioré has upped their game by adding charcoal to their classic skincare products, and while I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes to these pore strips, I do like that they're black so I can see the impurities being drawn out of my skin when I take them off. Gross, I know.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant - I cringe at the thought of purchasing the ridiculously pricey full size, but I've never tried any exfoliator that performed the way this sample did.  It's got super fine grains that don't irritate my skin, and it left me looking and feeling like I had a new face every time I used it.

Not pictured: Bare Minerals Mineral Veil - Ulta frequently has promotions where you can get brands for much less, and I picked this up during one such sale. I used to wear the entire Bare Minerals line at one point, and after reacquainting myself with this finishing powder, I can't quite remember why I left it. I'm tempted to pick up more products from the line to see if I feel the same way.
