If you’ve followed me for a bit, you probably already know how I feel about Jason Reynolds: 😍 You may also know that I’m not a huge middle grade (MG) reader. It takes a pretty special author or recommendation for me to reach for a MG book, but if I’m going to read anyone’s, it’ll be Jason Reynolds’. Ghost is the first in the Track series, about a middle school student struggling to reign in his Big Feelings - what he calls the scream - in the aftermath of his father’s incarceration for domestic violence (this is all in the first chapter.) I don’t want to say much more about the plot, but know that Reynolds navigates difficult topics and emotions with his trademark finesse. I - of course - fell in love with the characters and relationships and can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I also think this would make a great addition to my classroom library because it’s so engaging and has super short chapters for those reluctant readers! via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CLmetF_A7th/
