How to Be a Wallflower by Eloisa James was what I wanted from The Heiress Gets a Duke by Harper St. George but didn’t get! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Cleo is an English lady determined to make herself a wallflower this season so that she can remain unmarried — and continue to run her business. Jacob is an American conducting business in London but without the refinement of a gentleman. Together they embark on a My Fair Lady scheme in reverse: Jacob will design Cleo’s wardrobe for the season, and she’ll design his to decide if clothing really does make the man — or woman. But their bargain has unexpected consequences… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Cleo and Jacob have the most hilarious meet cute that really sets the stage for their characters going forward, and I really enjoyed their burgeoning friendship and romance. I especially appreciated the handing of the third act conflict! I also liked that Cleo didn’t fit the stereotypical English lady in a historical romance. Ultimately I really enjoyed this book and am very much looking forward to reading the second book in the series, which should be out by the time this review is published! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ID: I’m holding up a paperback of How to Be a Wallflower with one hand. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CllkjuirnEV/
