@heaths.bookclub shared an excerpt when she was reading Seven Days in June by Tia Williams that had me *immediately* placing this book on hold and WHY DID I NOT READ THIS BOOK SOONER?! Eva and Shane are both success stories in the literary world; when their paths cross after fifteen years of silence, they must confront the incredibly traumatic childhoods that first brought them together. In some ways going in blind was rough — I did wish that I’d had some time to prepare myself emotionally for some of the content, especially the pieces that struck a cord with me — and I definitely encourage you to check content warnings before reading as there are many. While I don’t love the back and forth of timelines that comes with a second chance romance, this book is stunning and beautifully written so I gave it a pass. ✨tidbits: -chronic migraine/barometric pressure migraine rep! -incredible pop culture references -1000 thread count angsty pining -conversations about genre vs literary fiction, generational trauma, race in publishing and film, and the school to prison pipeline 📸 1: A kindle displaying the ebook cover of Seven Days in June 📸 2: A kindle displaying the excerpt from Seven Days in June that made me immediately want to read it! via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/DAgH_0KgOKI/
