Elizabeth Acevedo is brilliant - we all know this. But I still didn't know all I was in for when I finally picked up Clap When You Land. As with The Poet X, I listened to this via audiobook and it was phenomenal. This dual perspective novel tells the story, in verse, of two young women left reeling in the aftermath of a plane crash that changes their lives. It's about family and identity and culture and grief, and I don't want to say too much because so much of the experience of reading this book is in the telling. While this book didn't resonate with me as deeply as The Poet X, it's still an incredible read and one I highly recommend. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CEtzJMnARS-/
