Thanks to @librofm for an advance copy of this audiobook! If you love Elizabeth Acevedo, Jaqueline Woodson, and Jason Reynolds (the latter two get a shout out in the acknowledgements), you better run to your closest library or bookstore because Mahogany L. Browne just became your new favorite author. Chlorine Sky is a BEAUTIFUL novel in verse about growth, friendship, feeling seen, and being a Black woman. I absolutely loved Sky’s journey. I saw my students in this book, and I know they would love it (I can’t wait to get a copy for my classroom), but I saw myself in it too. This is the kind of book I wish I had had when I was in school - a voice to encourage me to stop playing small. I highly recommend the audiobook, narrated by the author (I love audio for novels in verse) and I’m so hopeful that this book gets alllll the hype because I already can’t wait to see what Browne writes next! Linked in my bio is an interview with the author and an audio excerpt of Chlorine Sky! via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CKeIz6igV8g/
