Romance is one of those genres that I don’t always reach for and then when I pick one up again, I’m like, WHY DID I STOP?! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert came into my life rather fortuitously (see my last post) and I ended up reading it cover to cover that same day because unsurprisingly, everyone who loved it had good reason. In addition to being funny, sexy, and an absolute joy to read, it features conversations about chronic illness, mental health, race, class, friendship, and healing. And one very curmudgeonly cat. It was so rewarding watch Chloe and Red evolve (both as a couple and as individuals). As soon as I finished it, I borrowed the next book in the trilogy (each about a different Brown sister) and as of the writing of this review, I’ve already finished it and am waiting on a copy of the final book to become available! So, yeah, I guess you could say I’m a fan. 🤣 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Edited to add that @theliteraryheroine did a fantastic post about her experience with this book as a chronically ill person yesterday and you should 100% read it!
