I KNOW, I just finished raving about Get a Life, Chloe Brown and now I’m back to rave even more passionately about Take a Hint, Dani Brown because Talia Hibbert can do no wrong and romance is the only thing bringing me joy lately. Take a Hint, Dani Brown centers on Zaffir and Dani, friends from work who decide for *reasons* to fake a relationship. Y’all already knew I was here for the fake dating trope, but then Dani’s emotional compartmentalization hit real close to home, and Zaf was so kind and emotionally intelligent and I just couldn’t stop laughing and swooning and grinning like a loon and wondering if the people in the curbside pickup spot next mine could hear the sex scenes being narrated by the (great) audiobook and then I decided I didn’t care because I needed to know what happened next. I loved getting a peek of Chloe and Red from the first book and I love that Chloe and Dani feel like real sisters - well developed and individual (where it could have been easy to copy/paste some of their traits). Can we just talk about how absolutely remarkable it is to come across a male character who is not only in touch with his emotions but actively works to help others get in touch with their own? A character who reads and loves romance novels? My new favorite Hibbert book for sure. I’m both eager and sad to pick up the final book in the trilogy: Act Your Age, Eve Brown because then it’ll be over 😭 and I’ll just be waiting impatiently to see what else Hibbert comes out with! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ TW: generalized anxiety, panic attacks, death of family members (mentioned) Image description in alt text! via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CM17-1ML4KB/
