A Matter of Temptation by Stacy Reid was a @peacelovebooksxo rec that I really enjoyed because it gave me The Duchess Hunt vibes (could it be time for a reread?!) After Mina is discovered standing in for her brother during a duel, Simon hires her as his secretary and then realizes he might have feelings for her. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I loved the premise and loved that there was a bookish and brilliant MMC, and that Mina gets him to come around to Jane Austen by reading him Persuasion! I loved how much of this story revolves around the politics of the reform movement. That said, the resolution of the conflict felt a little *too* convenient, which is saying a lot because I routinely read historical romance. 🤣 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is the second Stacy Reid book I’ve read recently and I will definitely be looking for more of her books in the future!
