Whispers of You is the first book in Catherine Cowles’ new series, and I absolutely flew through it. Wren and Holt are childhood friends to lovers ripped apart by trauma, only to be given a second chance years later. While I was definitely frustrated by the conflict keeping them apart and hoped for more development of their relationship, I can’t deny that Cowles’ has a gift for pacing her romantic suspense novels — I couldn’t help but keep turning the pages until the book was through.
