The Rake Gets Ravished by Sophie Jordan is book two in the Duke Hunt series and follows Imogen’s best friend, Mercy, and gambling hell owner Silas. The seduction and subterfuge gave me early Sarah MacLean vibes! I don’t want to say too much but just know they hook up first and ask questions later. Mercy has BIG oldest daughter energy and I’m just saying that Sophie Jordan didn’t have to come for me so hard with this quietly capable FMC who is allergic to asking for help and is forever taking care of her family OKAY There’s a shocking lack of Imogen — I think she gets mentioned twice? I was sad about it. But this also means you can read this series as stand-alones or in whatever order you want because there’s very few spoilers (at least so far). This book is hot and I love Mercy and Silas, but I’ve also got beef: Silas is such an internal character that sometimes their relationship feels one sided. From his POV we get to see why he is who he is but he doesn’t ever share it with Mercy which is disappointing, especially because he learns so much about her. Also, her loser brother whose name I’ve already forgotten does *not* get his comeuppance in the end and I’m still mad about it. That said I am 100% going to going to continue the series — Gwen’s book is next and I’m so excited! 📸: I’m holding up a kindle displaying the ebook cover of A Rake Gets Ravished with one hand. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/C7T9hVSAshn/
