week 48 My new TSL sweatshirt arrived this week and I had to post about it because I’m obsessed. Some things I think about when I wear this sweatshirt: -That Orwell quote - “If people cannot write well, they cannot think well, and if they cannot think well, others will do their thinking for them.” -The work we are doing to help students embrace the idea that reading builds empathy, but it also empowers. -The conversations I have with students (and adults) about not letting anyone shame you for what you read. -The work we are doing to diversify and decolonize the curriculum. I’m anxious as hell about returning from this break and I’ve got the stress dreams to prove it, but I’m also excited to jump into some units that will challenge me and my students. Coming off a break leads to the ultimate (and in my case, two day long Sunday scaries) so I’m trying to focus on the good. Tell me something - anything - you’re excited about this week! via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CII5a0NAKuc/
