Bombshell is my first Sarah MacLean, but it won’t be my last — that’s what I jotted down in my notes app as I was reading. I’ve since read MacLean’s entire Bareknuckle Bastards series, and just like that, I have a new favorite author. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you love pining, this one’s for you. Sesily and Caleb are fighting that known you forever, my best friend’s sister, off limits kinda love and it is a joy to watch. Their story is funny, not too heavy, and ticked all the boxes for me. My only pet peeve was the sheer number of times the word sinful was used: you could make a drinking game out of reading this book 🤣 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This intro to Hell’s Belles, with its girl gang of smart, socially savvy women kicking ass reminded me of the Soulless series by Gail Carriger and has me so excited for the rest of the series — Heartbreaker comes out next year! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ CW: sexual content ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ID: I’m holding a kindle displaying the ebook cover of Bombshell.
