I’ve loved hearing everyone’s “Before Bookstagram” stories, so I decided to share mine! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Picture it: The year is 2015. People are arguing about a dress. Fifty Shades of Grey is sweeping the nation. Everyone’s belting Hello by Adele. Other more meaningful things are happening in the world. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I had graduated college the previous year and took a job far from my friends, and my family was going through a lot. I was feeling isolated and at loose ends, and I did what I always do when I’m feeling less than myself — I turned to books. I started a book tumblr, and challenged myself to read and blog about every book I read for a year. I did! Eventually, I transitioned from tumblr to blogger, and continued to blog semi regularly for the next few years. I’d been thinking about resurrecting my blog under a new name when I joined bookstagram in 2019, and had so much fun that I decided to abandon the blog and stick to IG! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Although I’d like to believe that my questionable photography skills have improved somewhat, 🤣 it’s fun to be reminded that I’ve always been reading and talking about books in some capacity! Plus, scroll to see 2015 me realizing that I actually like audiobooks! Lol. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you’re reading this, consider yourself tagged! I’d love to see what you were reading and sharing #beforeiknewaboutbookstagram. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CcfuJ9LL_wo/
