Lisa Kleypas loves a crossover, so I’ve already met several of the Wallflower characters (or their children!) in the Ravenels series, which I finished earlier this year! It set my expectations for this series pretty high, and Secrets of a Summer Night didn’t disappoint. I was up late finishing this one because there was no room to put it down! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Annabelle is poor, but has been brought up as a lady, while Simon is wealthy, but middle class. Their class difference romance was angsty and so well done. He falls first, which endeared me immediately. I loved that Kleypas really delved into what their circumstances and relationship meant for both of them, even after their marriage. This book was heavy on the historical details at times, which I liked, and there was no Act III breakup, which I loved 🙌🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Wallflowers are so much fun and the house party setting was a great way to see them explore their friendship and potential future relationships. I love a good girls supporting girls storyline (the Girl Meets Duke and Hell’s Belles series come to mind) and it’s obvious from this book whose story is going to be next! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ CW: sexual content ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ID1: A mass market paperback copy of Secrets of a Summer Night is propped up on a book pillow with stars and moons on it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ID2: The same book, opened to the stepback. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CciTYo2rZjJ/
