Mixed Signals by B.K. Borison has cemented her status as one of my favorite new authors of the year! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Getting to revisit Inglewild is always a pleasure and this book was no exception. I loved getting to see Layla and Caleb’s story unfold, especially after seeing them circle each other in In the Weeds. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This book is a golden retriever, small town bakery, let’s fake date so we can critique each other (but really because I like you). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I love that Caleb isn’t really sure what it is that he wants to do and ends up falling into something that fits his character so well. Layla has found career success but hasn’t surrounded herself with people who value her (especially when it comes to romantic partners) and Caleb absolutely steps up to support her and be her cheerleader. I loved the scenes where Caleb’s family showed up for him and the townspeople showed up for Layla in ways both big and small. I want to be a member of the Inglewild phone tree! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Borison has this way of writing characters that are so flawed and vulnerable and sweet and you just can’t help but love them all. Mixed Feelings is for those who feel like too much and those who feel like not enough. 💛 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Plus, we get Charlie and Nova in book four next year and I am so so excited! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ CW: sexual content ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ID: A kindle displaying the ebook cover of Mixed Signals sits on a white shelf next to a yellow plate with a chocolate croissant on it. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CkLWP5vr6hd/
