King of Wrath by Ana Huang is my favorite Huang book to date — it has all the things that had me devouring the Twisted series but with less of the new adult/campus novel piece that I didn’t care for. I liked Twisted Lies, which was the first book of Huang’s I read (and lays the groundwork for King of Wrath) and I’ve been excited for Dante and Vivian’s book ever since! I loved the contemporary take on an arranged marriage/marriage of convenience and generally thrived on the Gatsby vibes of it all, complete with a twenties themed party and lots of new money/old money conflict. Huang addresses complex family dynamics made even more complicated by the pressure Vivian’s family puts on her as a Chinese woman to be twice as good; I enjoy how Huang grounds her characters in such a real way and juxtaposes that with absolutely bonkers storylines. 🤣 ID: I’m holding up a kindle displaying the ebook cover of King of Wrath via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CyioM5Erp4v/
