I was SO excited to find out that Dr. Garrett Gibson got her own book in the Ravenels series, and Hello Stranger did not disappoint! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Garrett is a female doctor in 1800s England: she’s brilliant, ambitious, and doesn’t need anyone to protect her. She believes any relationship would jeopardize her career, so she’s not interested. Except there’s someone she can’t stop thinking about… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ethan Ransom is a former police officer and current spy. He’s trying to outrun his past and to expose corruption at the governmental level. He doesn’t have time for a very inconvenient attraction to Garrett Gibson… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I absolutely adored Garrett and Ethan’s story. Mary Jane Wells, the voice actor who narrates all the Ravenels audiobooks, did a fantastic job with Ethan’s Irish accent, which made me swoon.😍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The pacing was just right, though of course I wanted more, and I loved getting to see more of West! The best thing about this series is how interconnected each of the characters’ stories are. I love the way we get to see each of the Ravenel boys working to break the cycle of abuse and violence and be better men than their fathers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ CW: domestic violence, sexual content ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ TL;DR — Ethan Ransom has my heart and I will take no further questions at this time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ CW: mention of domestic violence ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ID: A mass market paperback of Hello Stranger stands in front of a stack of paperbacks with their pages facing forward so you can’t see the titles. There are trees and bushes visible in the background. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CZeneBWLzrc/
