Identity is so weird, y’all. As I mark off one quarter of the school year, I find myself falling back into the trap of Teacher becoming my whole identity - to others, and to myself. I’m trying really hard to find balance, and to still make time for the things that I enjoy during the school year. I don’t normally do a great job of this. The reality is that during the school year, I’m a lesser daughter, sister, friend. I love reading and bookstagram (duh) but I also love collecting shirts, and live music, and musicals, and embroidery. So much of who I am takes a backseat during the year. Covid made things even tougher. But I’m trying to reclaim it. I even saw Wicked this week - one of the first events I’ve been to since the start of the pandemic. So here’s a photo I took a while back of an embroidery I made based on one of my favorite musicals: Waitress! What are some of the things you do to regain balance?
