A Duke in Shining Armor by Loretta Chase is book one in the Difficult Dukes series, and follows Ripley, who is tasked with chasing down his best friend’s runaway bride, Olympia. His best friend’s fiancée isn’t a trope I knew I needed but I really enjoyed this book (alllmost as much as I loved book two!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Olympia and Ripley end up on quite an adventure together and while there isn’t a huge amount of travel involved, there’s definitely road trip romance vibes with this one! Olympia and Riley have great chemistry and Lucius is so awful that you honestly don’t even care about him at all (though he does get a redemption arc in Ten Things I Hate About the Duke). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My heart goes out to Loretta Chase, who has written publicly about her struggles to write book three in the trilogy and has delayed it’s publication.
