One Dance with a Duke by Tessa Dare ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Amelia attempts to bargain with the reclusive Duke of Morland in an attempt to clear her brother’s gambling debt, but ends up with more than she bargained for in this marriage of convenience historical romance! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I did enjoy the plot and felt like it was original, and Spencer and Amelia have great chemistry. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We all know horse girls are a thing, but it was fun to see a horse boy instead! If you’re a sucker for starchy characters who are mean to people but kind to animals — look no further. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This one is pretty far back in TD’s backlist, and while I enjoyed it, it doesn’t have that trademark Tessa Dare sparkle. It was a like, not a love, for me. I’m still glad I read it, because it’s fun to see how one of my favorite authors has grown! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ CW: panic attacks, enochlophobia, death of a loved one, gambling addiction, pregnancy, sexual content ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ID: A mass market paperback copy of One Dance with a Duke sits on a white shelf. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/Ch4niruLw5W/
