I don’t typically gravitate to the marriage in crisis trope but…maybe I should?! I picked up Lady Isabella’s Scandalous Marriage by Jennifer Ashley as soon as I’d finished The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (book one in the series) because I absolutely needed Mac and Isabella to get their own story! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This second chance/marriage in crisis romance follows Ian’s brother Mac, a brilliant artist who has gotten sober and is trying to win back the wife who left him three years ago. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Every book in the series gets its own mystery subplot — book one had a murder mystery, and this one has a doppelgänger mystery! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ He calls her sassenach.🥺I have fallen head over heels for every character in this series (I’ve read the first four books) and loved Mac’s redemption arc. I don’t always love second chance romances but this one is done so well. Again, the themes of family and found family got me right in the heart. Look forward to me continuing to rave about how much I love this series! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ CW: alcohol abuse, miscarriage via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/Cno41UhL46p/
