Melanie (mels_reads) posted about wanting to read Finding You by Lena Hendrix and it immediately gave me Love in the Afternoon-but-make-it-contemporary vibes, so I had to pick it up! After being discharged from the Marines, Lincoln returns to his hometown in search of the woman he’s never met who wrote him letters while he was deployed — letters that helped him to survive. He quickly figures out that Joanna is his brother’s best friend, further complicating things. Unfortunately a lot of the book centers unnecessarily on this conflict instead of exploring Lincoln’s PTSD, which is the actual reason he’s resisting his feelings for her. While this does get addressed eventually, I would have liked to see more development of that storyline. I also wished there had been more of an epistolary element to the book: we are told about the letters, but don’t actually get to see them. Ultimately I enjoyed the story, and it was a great way to spend a sick day off from work, but it won’t be making my favorites list when it comes to those tropes! Please give me all your recs for epistolary romances!! ID: I’m holding a kindle displaying the ebook cover of Finding You against a green pillow. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CpaLNnVrihJ/
