I’ve read four novellas this month, so please enjoy these rapid fire reviews in order of my level of enjoyment (most to least): The Chemistry of Familiar Objects by Alexandra Vasti 🧪Available for free through her newsletter 🧪1000 stars out of 10 for the title alone 🧪I will read anything Alexandra Vasti writes 🧪Emmeline is a chaos demon explosives chemist and Robert is a starchy children’s book printer; they clash when forced to share an office building! Dukes, Rogues, and Villains by Joanna Shupe 💥Available on KU 💥I’ve read a ton of JS before but she goes 🌶️ in this trio of novellas: 💥My Dirty Duke, where Violet is determined to seduce Max, her dad’s best friend 💥Sold to the Duke, where Eliza refuses to be rescued by Lucien, her brother’s best friend 💥The Gangster’s Prize, where Belle makes a deal with the devil (ahem, gang leader, Billy) to find her missing father How to Catch a Wild Viscount by Tessa Dare 🐺Available on KU 🐺Looks like paranormal but it’s really HR 🐺Tessa Dare really likes her MMCs with a side of trauma and this one is no exception 🐺Luke has returned from war and is determined to push away Cecily, who has been waiting for him. Also there’s lore about a wolf man? Idk. Storm Chaser by Nellie Wilson (not to be confused with Willie Nelson) 🌪️Available on KU 🌪️I read it to get hype about seeing Twisters and it kinda worked (it mentions the OG film a few times) 🌪️Julian and Violet are storm chasers and sworn enemies who wind up working together and who definitely have some unresolved tension. Ultimately novellas will never be my favorite because I always want *more* than they can give, but three of these authors are faves and I enjoyed getting to read more of their work! 📸1: A kindle displaying the ebook cover of The Chemistry of Familiar Objects sits on a white shelf. I’m reaching out to touch the kindle with one hand. 📸2: A collage of kindles displaying the ebook covers of Dukes, Rogues, and Villains; How to Catch a Wild Viscount; and Storm Chaser. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/C-Aexd8gj-d/
