So many people have loved and recommended this series that I’m a little afraid to talk about my feelings about Indigo Ridge, the first book in the Edens series by Devney Perry 🫣 This small town romantic suspense novel follows Winn and Griffin. She’s a police officer, he’s a member of the town founding family (the Edens). They have a memorable one night stand turned awkward forced proximity once they realize neither are out of towners. It felt aggressively fine. I wasn’t super invested in either the relationship or the plot, but invested enough that I kept reading, if that makes sense. I almost always guess a book’s twist/reveal, but didn’t with this one, which is always a welcome change! Ultimately it may just be a case of right book, wrong time for me; I’m not against picking up more books from the series, but I’m also not rushing to do it right now.
