Her Wicked Marquess by Stacy Reid is book two in the Sinful Wallflowers series and while I loved book one, I wasn’t sure I was gonna love this one (but I ended up really enjoying it!) HWM follows Maryann and Nicholas: she wants out of an arranged betrothal and fakes a connection to a notorious rake (or is he? 🧐) and inadvertently becomes embroiled in his revenge plot. He meets her every night in her bedroom to make sure she isn’t being used as blackmail and definitely, absolutely not for any other reason. The first 10% or so was kinda slow, but I’m so glad I picked it back up for the balcony/bedroom scenes alone! I love that Maryann has a clear idea from the beginning of who she is and of what kind of partner would add value to her life, in spite of society’s expectations. ✨ tidbits: -vigilante justice -I love you but I’ve chosen darkness -WHO HURT YOU? -“Raccoons do that.” Please check content warnings if needed before picking this one up!
