The Rake and the Rose by Eva Devon is the third in the Once Upon a Wallflower series and follows Rose, a pamphlet writer and activist, and Alexander, an Earl and patron of the arts. Rose is determined to get access to a brothel in order to further her investigative journalism and enlists her childhood friend turned rake to do it. This one has class difference angst and childhood friends to lovers, and while it won’t be making my year end favorites list, I’m enjoying watching the series unfold! If I remember correctly, each of the books deal with class and privilege in some way, which I really enjoy. This book also has the least creepy cover of the series — is this AI art? I’m not a fan, but don’t judge this series by its covers, mkay? 📸: A kindle displaying the ebook cover of The Rake and the Rose lays on a white shelf above wood floors. I’m reaching out to touch the kindle with one hand. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/C8PLuRxv3i8/
