July Reads! If you saw my last post, you know that this month has been wild, and I basically didn't read for most of it. Everything in this reading wrap up I read in the first ten days of the month. To quote my students, it be like that sometimes. 🤷🏻♀️ So without further ado, here's what I read this month: •Dig by A.S. King - an intergenerational family drama that deals with wealth, race, and relationships. So weird and SO good. I'll have a fuller review of this up next week. •Party of Two by Jasmine Guillory - my favorite of Guillory's Wedding Date series to date (this pun was an accident but I'm keeping it). Review on my feed! •Maus by Art Spiegelman - a graphic novelization about Spiegelman's father's experience living in Poland during the Holocaust. Review to come! •My Own Devices by Dessa - a memoir in essays by one of my favorite musicians exploring the formative relationships in her life. Review to come! It wasn't a great month in terms of how much I read, but it was a great month in terms of quality - I loved every book! I'm already wondering how I'm going to narrow down my favorite books of the year. What book has stood out from the rest for you this year? via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CDTrU82AWwg/
