Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord is the second book in the Love by Numbers series by Sarah MacLean and my favorite so far! I fell for Nick in Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake — his friendship with Callie and relationship with Gabriel was so fun — so I was excited for his story, and it didn’t disappoint! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As a favor to an old friend, Nick reluctantly agrees to revisit a part of his life he though he’d put behind him. In the process, he crosses paths with a woman who holds the key to the secret he’s set out to discover. But that’s not the only secret she’s keeping… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I loved Isabel and her fierceness! I definitely relate to her desire to handle everything herself and take care of everyone in her life, to a fault. Although they don’t initially realize it, Nick and Isabel are so much alike, both in the childhood trauma they’ve experienced and how it has shaped their desire to protect others. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Without giving too much away, I want to say that I loved this storyline and the way it unfolded. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ CW: sexual content, parental abandonment, abuse ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ID1: I’m holding a mass market paperback copy of Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord. ID2: I’m holding the same book, open to the step back. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CdYTHX7rIBB/
