One Good Earl Deserves A Lover by Sarah MacLean is the second book in the Rule of Scoundrels series and it left me feeling like this series might be my favorite that MacLean has written so far! This book follows Penelope’s sister Phillippa, and Bourne’s friend and colleague, Cross! Pippa has never fit in to the world into which she was born, but she has always sought to understand it. Which is why with just two weeks left before her wedding, she decides to enlist Cross to help with her research, starting with lessons in seduction. Pippa and Cross are both brilliant and neither quite fit in to their respective worlds — they are such a fun pairing! I loved that MacLean leaned into showing us more of The Fallen Angel in this book and that we got to see more of the club owners (I laughed out loud at the moment that tipped us off as to whose book would be next!) The lady saves herself in this one, in spectacular fashion, and I loved every minute of it. I also loved that Pippa’s fiancée actually turned out to be super sweet and just not right for her.
