It’s @pattyisbooked and @jm_bibliolater’s #BookstaReviewWeek! Let’s get into it: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With as much contemporary romance as I read last year, I was still sleeping on Tessa Bailey and it’s unacceptable! I finally picked up Hook, Line, and Sinker and fell — immediately — in love with it. Like, knew at 1% it was going to be a fave. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Me, 5 seconds in to the book: HE CALLS HER FRECKLES 🥺 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Me, 1% in: repeatedly closing the audiobook so I could listen to the songs being listened to in the book (shoutout to whoever made a Spotify playlist of all the songs!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Me, 34% of the way in: having a crisis about how difficult it’s going to be to choose a song pairing for this book and knowing Hannah would get it right 😅 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Me, at all times while reading: LOSING MY ABSOLUTE SHIT, squealing, trying not to cry. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hannah feels like a supporting actress in her own life, but she’s on a mission to become a leading lady. Taking a step to make it happen lands her exactly where she wants to be: back in Westport, with her sister Piper and friend (but maybe more) Fox. Fox knows he can’t escape who he is, so why not lean in? Except his best friend wants him to take on a captaincy and his newfound friendship with Piper is doing all kinds of crazy things to his head and heart. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The sheer vulnerability of these characters? The way they keep showing up for each other? The chemistry? The protectiveness? The love of music? I simply cannot cope. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ PS: I have a historical romance rec with Hook, Line, and Sinker vibes if you’re so inclined: Scoundrel of My Heart by Lorraine Heath! Complete with he falls first, FRECKLES, 1000 thread count angsty pining, my best friend’s brother vibes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ CW: sexual content ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ID: I’m holding up a kindle displaying the ebook cover of Hook, Line, and Sinker. via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CeEBswDrTwq/
