What a Wallflower Wants was my first Maya Rodale book, and I’m surprised I haven’t picked anything of hers up sooner! I appreciated that the book opens with a letter/content warning for readers, because the book deals heavily with sexual assault. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Prue has given up the idea of marrying for love, but she’s also determined not to be the only unmarried woman in the history of her finishing school. When her attempted marriage of convenience goes awry, she crosses paths with the newly returned Lord Castleton, with unexpected consequences. I loved how patient and kind John was with Prue as he helped her to rebuild her trust in herself and others, and I absolutely loved the forced proximity, oh-no-we’re-trapped-in-this-inn-whatever-will-we-do vibes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What a Wallflower Wants is book 3 in a series, but if you don’t care about spoilers, they can be read in whatever order you want. I was much less impressed in book two of the series (review to come), but I’m still holding out hope that I’ve found a new to me author to enjoy! via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CmjcN9Tr1io/
