Surrender of a Siren by Tessa Dare is book two in TD’s first ever (?) series and I am so close to finishing her entire backlist! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Surrender of a Siren has the Pirates of the Caribbean vibes I didn’t know I needed in a historical romance?! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sophia is running from her family, her engagement, and the ton by boarding a ship to Tortola. In the process, she crosses paths with Gray, who is a former privateer (pirate) trying to go straight. I loved their meet cute, the setting, and the fact that this book — however tangentially — acknowledges race and slavery, which is rare for historical romance. I was super frustrated by the third act conflict and while I wouldn’t say this book is a new all time fave, it did put me in the mood to pick up more historicals with this kind of setting!
