Did The Soulmate Equation just become my new favorite Christina Lauren book? I’ve been throwing myself into contemporary romances pretty much non stop these last couple months, but it’s been a minute since I sat down and read an entire book cover to cover in an afternoon like I did with this one. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After Jess and River have a Lizzie and Darcy level (insert whatever the opposite of a meet-cute is here), their spark seems destined to fade; that is, until they discover that they are - improbably (obviously) - genetically compatible. They’ve found their soulmate: what could possibly go wrong? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I worried that I wouldn’t vibe with a book centered on a data analyst and a geneticist, but I shouldn’t have. I LOVED this book, y’all. The humor, references, and relationships all hit the right notes for me. I haven’t adored a child like Juno since Briar in Such a Fun Age. And I loved the scenes between Jess and Juno, Juno and River, and Fizzy and Jess just as much as the scenes between Jess and River. Basically this book was an absolute delight and has shifted my ranking of CLo books (a good problem to have)! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ TW: parental abandonment (history of drug abuse) via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CPIs67ErcJK/
