I’ve been making my way through Christina Lauren’s backlist, and Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating is definitely one of my faves! Heavy on the shenanigans, Josh and Hazel is a true rom-com featuring a character that could have easily fallen into “I’m not like other girls because I’m quirky/I’m a mess” territory and I feel like they teetered on the line but didn’t cross it. This book features some of my favorite tropes: sunshine/grump and friends to lovers and I was living for it. There’s a biracial relationship (a Korean male lead), but it’s not own voices rep, so do with that what you will. I loved seeing teachers represented in a way that felt authentic because that feels like such a rarity and I really don’t understand why!? I could absolutely see this being adapted into a movie and I’m disappointed that none of CLo’s books have (to my knowledge) been optioned yet! via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CPaswUVrB7b/
