Once again, a shoutout to @brandisipsandreads for making all my book dreams come true! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You know how some books have “there’s only one bed?” The Hating Game by Sally Thorne has “there’s only one office.” 🤣 I mean, it also has only one bed, but...🤷🏻♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Lucy and Josh are executive assistants to the CEOs of their respective publishing houses - even after the merger that brings their companies (and offices) together. This enemies to lovers workplace romance has banter, pranks, and oneupmanship that some might find annoying but I found entertaining. But there’s heartfelt moments too as the book explores strained familial relationships, learning to be assertive, and overcoming the need to be liked. Sally Thorne books are so much fun to read and I’m sad I’ve officially completed her backlist. I’ll just have to settle for waiting for the title of her fourth book to be announced and for the movie adaptation of The Hating Game to come out - Gina Torres is in it, so I have high hopes! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ TW: one mention of the r-word (I know the author is Australian, so I’m not sure if there is the same stigma surrounding this word or not) via Instagram https://instagr.am/p/CPQaoitr8b_/
